about

Blending free arrangements, fun vocal layering and lyrical reflection, “the ups” is an expression of moments: moments of complete love and happiness, moments of utter confusion and self-observation, but maybe most importantly, moments that can not be changed or taken away.

Ali Wesley’s follow-up album “the ups” was created through a spontaneous, playful recording process (which included bedrooms/closets/front seat of an old Honda Accord). During recording, Ali would record one song in one day, and what was done was done – she never allowed herself to go back and add to the tracks once that day was over. In this way, the process is just as important as the album content itself.

Each song hopes to be enjoyed by you.

The several songs not included in “the ups” will be released as an EP “Swallow” later in 2011.
